The pomp and pageantry combined with athletes playing only for their school and a shot at the the national championship and an NFL contract makes this the best spectator sport out there.
And 99.9 percent will never make it past college. This is the peak of their athletic lives and they know it which makes the process bittersweet. More sweet than bitter.
