2588...This Is Not Good

Clive Doucet is running for mayor of Ottawa.

I like Mr. Doucet.

But all his running for mayor of your Capital is going to do is open the way for Larry O'Brien to continue his reign of ineptitude as mayor.

If you recall I set a few conditions for Mr. O'Brien, the worst big city mayor in the country, to win.

From memory they would be:

-a warm winter...check
-fixing Lansdowne...check
-fixing Light Rail...check
-more than one credible candidate that is not from the far, far, far right side of the spectrum...check

The logical and practical and right choice for mayor is Jim Watson. But now with downtown Capital Ward councillor Mr. Doucet in the race along with Alec Cullen from the Bay Ward in the west end of the city vote spliting is possible and probable.

It happened in Gatineau last year when two credible candidates ran against the uncredible mayor, Marc Bureau. They split the vote and Mr. Bureau snuck up the f'ing middle.

I fears that could happen here.

I do.

  1. I think Bureau is a good Mayor. City first...not his next election!
