2576...Now That The Line Has Been Crossed

The line that made us, Canadians and Canada, different from them, countries that pay only lip service to Civil Liberty, was crossed last week.

It is a slippery slope; first we lost our right to free speech and now our right to free assembly.

Throwing out the baby with the bath water.

Scary sh*t.

  1. I've devoted a number of recent posts to supporting the Liberal Party position on this, which is not the one you are espousing. Ignatieff has not criticized the police actions in any way, indeed he has praised them. The criticism has been on the overspending and the location (centre of Toronto). That is what we should be focusing our attentions on. It may be hard to admit, but sometimes you DO have to trade in evils when fighting evil. Those are the choices that had to be made and Ignatieff understands that better than anyone. You're certainly entitled to your views, but I don't think the majority of the Liberal party supports it, the leader certainly does not. We cannot be seen as weak kneed on security issues. Besides, Ignatieff's political instincts on this one have proven 100% correct given the recent polling on this data. I hope you come around.
