896...I Am On The Wireless Tomorrow Morning

www.ckcufm.com

93.1 in Ottawa/Gatineau.

With Concillia Muonde to talk about Take Back The Night which goes down on Thursday. It is a march where women TBTN. No dudes, just womyn marching in many cities in our country [and their country too] to TBTN.

Although I am not a fan of anything that is exclusionary, I think that selecting out is counter productive, I am a big fan of Concillia Muonde and am glad to get the word out.

Later in the hour that starts at six I will have Neil deMause from www.fieldofschemes.com to get his view on the Lansdowne sitch in Ottawa.

For those of you not current on Lansdowne, it is one of the most important pieces of public land on the continent. A public park since 1868 Lansdowne is up for a well need refitting. The question is who is going to do it and who is going to pay for it.

Look, federal money is going to be involved so if you are in Moose Jaw, Halifax or Saanich-Gulf Islands this impacts you.

681...New Democrats Still New

Showing their consistency in not making decisions the New Democratic Party, a 48 year old political party by the way so not exactly New as in New, did not even get around to discussing a name change.

Various sources are reporting on this story and all are consistent with the thought that there was a bit of stalling, filibustering going on at the convention held over the weekend in Halifax, stall tactics aimed at preventing the discussion of said name change.

621...New Democratic Party = Democratic Party

The New Democratic Party, which has been 1/the New Democratic Party for 48 years and 2/not even close to forming a national government in its existence or 3/being in opposition, like, not even a silver f'ing medal, if one is to define loser on a national party level, step right up NDP.

Anyhow, they have a convention this month in Halifax, a good drinking town by the way, and they are giving serious thought, writes Lawrence Martin this morning, to dropping the "New" and becoming the Democratic Party.

You still cannot make a silk purse out of a pig's ear.

A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet.

The NDP are still number 3. Except when they are number 4.

239...Nova Scotia, The Place To Be

Not only for exciting courtroom drama, courtesy Lisa Raitt and Jasmine MacDonnell, no, there is a wee election happening there this day, Tuesday the 9th of June, and it promises to be an important and historic one.

Even though New Democratic Leader Darrell Dexter would like you to believe that the election is too close to call fact is his party, which trailed Premier Rodney MacDonald by only one seat in the provincial house, is poised to kick some serious butt at the polls, looking to sweep not only their traditional power bases in the HRM [Halifax Regional Municipality] and in Cape Breton, but all through Canada's Ocean Playground. In fact I will goes as far as to guarantee you that come Wednesday morning when Darrell Dexter pulls himself out from underneath the covers he will be the first New Democratic Premier of Nova Scotia.

In fact the only question that remains is who is Paul MacEwan is hoping wins tonight?
