In an Alanis Morrisettian sort of way, i.e. Isn't It Ironic, Quebec both has the highest amount of couples shacked up, about a third according to Global News, and is the only province that doesn't recognized conjoined couples as married under the eyes of the law.
Global goes on to report that "By a slim majority, the Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that Quebec does not have to give common-law spouses the same rights as married couples."
This of course makes falling out of love even more Neil Sedakaish than in the ROC, you know, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do.
