4974...Good Hair At The Olympics

I believe that was the name of the Chris Rock doc a few years ago.

In that documentary Mr. Rock pointed out that, doing this from memory so you fat guys living in your mom's basement if I get it wrong just leave it, Mr. Rock pointed out that Blacks are 12 per cent of the population but account for 90 per cent of the spending on hair products.

This is why it should come as no surprise that NPR, think CBC for the chattering latte drinkers in the States, led with this on All Things Considered yesterday:

Gabby Douglas, the 16-year-old gymnast from Virginia Beach, Va., won another gold medal Thursday. The first was won with her team earlier this week. She was the only member of the team to perform in all four rotations. So, why are some black women obsessed with her hair?

Well NPR listeners the reason Black women are obsessed with Ms. Douglas' hair is because Black women [not all, again, fat guys, off the ledge] are as obsessed with their hair as White women are obsessed with their weight.
