That will be the headline next November in Ottawa.
A preview of sorts played out last night across the river in Gatineau.
Marc Bureau, the one term mayor of Gatineau was re elected for a second term with only 44 per cent of the popular vote. In an echo of what Mr. O'Brien has heard, Mr. Bureau's opponents say he gives little value to taxpayers for their hard earned money [can you say 0-Train?] and has failed to provide leadership in Quebec's third largest city.
What won the election for him is what is probably going to win the election for Mayor Larry O'Brien: two credible opponents splitting the vote.
The two opponents, Aurele Desjardins, who I believe was a former deputy mayor and Tony Cannavino, a former national police official, received about 54 per cent of the vote [Dave Rogers in the Ottawa Citizen reports their were also 3 also rans] making the prediction by former Gatineau mayor Robert Labine that the only way Mr. Bureau could win would by splitting the vote six ways come true.

Your strange, suspicious, love for O'brian is tedious, and like most hacks you don't really care if those you support do a good or a poor job, you would support this guy if there were film of him molesting collies. You really are a hack whose boorishness is only outstripped by your simplistic analysis. This love of O'brian is almost as pathetic as your apparent hatred of Elizabeth May.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, O'Brian will loose the election. Watch it happen boy.
If you're really as confident in your opinion, 'kirbycairo' as you pretend to be, then you could afford to voice it with a little more dignity and respect for the opinion of others in future.
ReplyDeleteThank you. You cooperation on this is greatly appreciated ;-)
I actually believe O'Brien can win again, especially if it is a crowded race. Not really a problem if the city councillors get the boot. Bu they won't.
