1716...Let The Excuses Begin

The big flame hasn't been lit yet and James Travers in the Toronto Star kicks off the excuses for our [potential] bad showing at the Vancouver Winter Games.

[Remember, we sh*t the bed in both Montreal, '76 and Calgary '88.]

He writes that the most important thing isn't winning, it is being hospitable.

Uh, no.

The town he uses as an example is Lillehammer, the friendliest Olympic town ever. Of course the fact that Norway won 26 medals in 1994 didn't hamper the smiles. And the shine off the 10 golds didn't hurt either.

Own The Podium is the battle cry of the Canuckistanian Olympic Team.

Better damn well come through, especially in Men's Hockey, or Van ain't gonna be Lillehamer.
