Last week it was the Westside Weekly; this week it is the Penticton Herald but the op ed is the same, same fractured grammar, confusing syntax, ah, we love you Jet Ski Boy.

Plus the op ed for the Penticton bird cage liner was stale dated, referring to the Merritt Mountain Music Festival as happening last weekend. Actually, it was two weekends ago and, yes, I am nitpicking.

Voila:

"And in case any of you country music fans missed it, the Merritt Mountain Music Festival was a huge hit this past weekend. I was there for the opening and got to meet Paul Brandt. He and the rest of the great line-up with the likes of Kenny Chesney, wowed the crowd (hey, that rhymes) all weekend long."

You are a minister, Jet Ski Boy, hire some staff, freshen up and accurate up the prose.

Canada has inked a free trade pact with Jordan that will lift duties on Canadian exports to the Arab nation. Trade Minister Stockwell Day and his Jordanian counterpart signed the agreement Sunday in Jordan's capital, Amman. Canada's forestry, manufacturing and agriculture sectors are expected to benefit from duty-free access. In return, Canada will give the Mideast country preferential trade conditions, including full exemption from customs duties for Jordanian goods. The deal is expected to be ratified by both parliaments later this year. Bilateral trade stood at about $92.2 million in 2008, according to a news release from Canadian government.

Duty free, preferential trade, sounds like a good deal for us and them.

Andrew Steele in this morning's Globe and Mail points out that a/the Tory attack ads are branding the next Prime Minister of Canada Michael Ignatieff as a bastard and b/we like voting for bastards.

Mr. Steele subscribes to the to the Will Ferguson theory of Bastards and Boneheads and points out that historically the bastard beats the bonehead.

Trudeau/Clark winner was the bastard.
Chretien/Day winner was the bastard.
Harper/Dion winner was the bastard.
