The above headline is, of course, a tease.
The elections that will be held across Canada will only be held in four ridings, two in La Belle, one in B. C. and one in Nova Scotia.
The Canadian Press reports that the Tories may get shut out in all four by elections. The B. C. riding is a NDP seat in the Vancouver area, the two Quebec seats are strong for the BQ. The last seat, in Nova Scotia, was held by maverick Bill Casey, a Tory who split with the party and sat as an independent.

953...When He Is Wrong He Is Wrong
If you watched Lloyd Robertson on the CTV National News last night you got a peek at NDP leader Jack Layton's adverts that are hitting the air for real today across our home and native land.
The ad is an attempt by the NDP to sell its new message, the message being we are propping up the Stephen Harper government because if there is an election we will get beaten like a rented mule and end up with 8 seats.
This from the party that made such a big deal about being the party that consistently voted against the Conservatives at every turn.
Until now that is.
When it counts.

943...Are Insecure Liberals A Problem?
Or is it insecure Tories?
Methinks it is the latter.
Our beloved Prime Minister Stephen Harper was speaking yesterday at an Irving owned machine yard in Saint John, New Brunswick and a number of prominent, i.e., elected, Liberals wanted to go see the Prime Minister of all speak.
Macleans.ca tells us that "Moncton MP Brian Murphy and New Brunswick Liberal MLAs Abel LeBlanc and Stuart Jamieson, the latter of whom was designated by the provincial Liberal government as its official representative at the event...", were turned away at the door.
Saint John Conservative MP Rodney Weston says that the issue was security.
Or insecurity.

922...WFDS: Wrong Again
Post 918 I asked Whither Elizabeth May?
She whither be on the front page of the Halifax Chronicle-Herald.
Mea culpa.
Steven Maher writes that the Green leader "...is predicting that Prime Minister Stephen Harper will find a way to engineer an election this fall, even as he attacks Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff for trying to send Canadians to the polls."
The Tory reply from Dimitri Soudas was "Liz May who?"
And please allow me to point out that Ms. May is running in Saanich-Gulf Islands and is on the front page of a newspaper serving one of her old ridings, Central Nova, as far away from her new riding as one can be and still be in Canada.
