197...Proud To Be A Canadian
Sometimes it is hard to be proud to be a Canadian.
Janice Tibbetts reports in Wednesday's Montreal Gazette that the government of our home and native land is arguing in court that Canada's legal duty to protect its citizens, even children, ends at the border and there is nothing in domestic or international law that obliges the government to seek Omar Khadr's repatriation.
The government contends it has done plenty to ensure the "well-being" of the Guantanamo Bay detainee; they have supplied him with magazines and everything!!!
Brings a tear.
