890...More On Cheerleaders

The Carleton University ones.

There were a pair of field hockey games at my alma mater and the Ravens are struggling on the pitch, Michelle McEvoy and her club lost two on Saturday and are in tough today.

They could use support.

Cheerleaders perhaps.

And, of course the Carleton cheerleaders were there.

Wait, no, that's wrong.

The Carleton cheerleaders were not there.

No, as seems to be their Sunday tradition, they were standing on Bronson at Catherine holding signs saying "Honk if you love cheerleaders."

Like, hello, often cheerleaders for universities [and high schools and colleges and pro sports teams and and and] cheer for the teams that represent the university.

Oy vey.

Moi, the World Famous Dan Shields and, in studio, Michelle McEvoy, coach of Carleton's Field Hockey team.

Also Neil deMause from www.fieldofschemes.com in Brooklyn, New York to talk about stadiums and their financial impact on cities. This is totally relevant to today's news in Ottawa because of the impact the Lansdowne renos will have on our town.

Carolyn Willman of http://www.contestqueen.com/ will be on the phone from 905 later in the hour to tell you how you can become a contest winner.

And for the full hour health issues will pop up from Matthew Buechler who is not so sure that the swine flu vaccine is a good thing for you and I to take.

944 on Rogers, 93.1 on the wireless and www.ckcufm.com on the internet.
