History.com's This Day In History reports that "...July 5, 1946, French designer Louis Reard unveils a daring two-piece swimsuit at the Piscine Molitor, a popular swimming pool in Paris..."

This should, of course, be a day that is celebrated world wide.

I am surprised that stickman/Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi hasn't picked up on this.
