1884...Don't I Get Three Strikes?

In WFDS Post 1758...Oooops and WFDS Post 1786...Oooops I Did It Again I told you the tale of Windsor's Dr. Barbara Heartwell, surgeon.

To refresh, what the good Dr. did was bad. She cut stuff off women that was not to be cut off.

More than once I will add.

In February she "...voluntarily withdrew from performing surgery at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital in Windsor in late February after the hospital launched an investigation into Heartwell's medical case history."

The controversy surrounding Dr. Heartwell began when a former patient, Laurie Johnston, went public with her story of how she had a mastectomy at the hands of the skilled surgeon in 2009, only to find out two weeks later she never had cancer. Miss Johnston is suing Dr. Heartwell, the hospital and Dr. Olive Williams, the pathologist whose report Dr. Heartwell misinterpreted, for $2.2 million. Dr. Heartwell also removed the breast of Janice Laporte of Sarnia, Ont., in 2001. A report later revealed the woman did not need the mastectomy, as she did not have cancer.

Now CBC reports that she wants to go back into the operating room, scalpel in hand. A hearing will be held tonight in the Rose City to determine her fate.
