Let the WFDS say straight up that I have no problem with Mixd Martial Arts, MMA, in Ontario. Nor do I have a problem with any other sanction martial arts type contact sports in Ontariario.
Disclaimer aside, I agree with Corey Laracque's editorial in this morning's Ottawa Sun where he points out that Ontario's present, sane, government, under the able leadership of Dalton McGuinty, doesn't look like it is going to bring MMA, UFC etc to our province anytime in the near future.
Tim Hudak, the leader of the wanna be in power party, the Tories, the party that celebrated getting defeated, losing, in Ottawa West this week, is quoted in the editorial as saying that we should "...just get on with it...[because 40 states and five provinces already have the sport]...let's bring some tourist dollars to our province..."
As Mr. Laracque writes, do we want a Premier who is going to make government policy based on peer pressure? Or shall we stay the path, the sane and true path that our current government in Ontario follows?
No brainer.
