Jack Layton, the leader of the federal NDP, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Tough break for a great servant of the people; prayers extended. He is apparently going to take a break to take care of his personal issue. He will be missed.

As I understand it, he isn't going to take a break. He's going to slow his schedule, but continue as leader.
